Each registration dossier generates a number of tests to be performed in order to better identify a given substance. The two major tests families are:
- Analytical tests; they make it possible to characterise the substance from a physicochemical point of view (NMR, UV, XRD, etc.)
- Toxicological and ecotoxicological tests, in the case of submission as Lead Registrant. These make it possible to evaluate the impact of the substance on human health and the environment. They are detailed in Annexes VII, VIII, IX and X of the REACH Regulation.
